That's my business

It's that little spark that happens when you pick up the perfect gift - for yourself or someone in your heart - that makes retail magical.

In our digital age, consumers are yearning for the tangible satisfaction of quality handmade and design-driven goods. Shoppers want to see, feel, and experience the narrative of objects made by real people. They feel good when they support small business. This is evident in the enormous surge in the popularity of handmade & independent designers, the blossoming of indie craft fairs all over the world, and the increased market share of handcrafted merchandise. The growth of the creative economy is meaningful on both social and economic levels and it is good for your business.

It is the sense of discovery that drives sales.

It is the reward of creating meaningful connections - from makers to retailers to consumers - that drives me.

Curating Connections

Pleased to meet you, I'm Megan.

Name :: Megan Luther

Status :: In a happy long-term relationship with retail

Occupation :: Product Scout // Independent Retail Buyer

Education :: BFA, Maryland Institute College of Art

Sign :: Pisces

Interests :: Handwritten notes, salty chocolate, vinyl

I'm really good at :: Pulling things together from the enormity of the world and creating discrete narratives, complementary sets, and beautiful compositions with what I find. I always seek to create something engaging, intriguing, and sometimes unexpected, with a little bit of wit.

I spent the last 10 years :: Connecting-the-dots between artists and communities through work with my award-winning boutique Doubledutch along with public art projects, social programs, and cultural institutions.

  • Collaborated on public art projects: Candy Chang's Before I Die mural in two locations in Savannah, GA + Pierre Roti's mural for the Living Walls conference in Atlanta, GA
  • Managed the design-build collaborative project: Farm Truck 912, a mobile farmer's market serving neighbors with the least access to fresh food
  • Selected by cultural icon Grace Bonney to present “Wholesale to Retail Tips” to emerging designer-makers at Design*Sponge Biz Ladies Meetup
  • Assistant to George Dawes Green, best-selling author and founder of the internationally acclaimed storytelling program The Moth
  • Instructed arts curriculum: Telfair Art Museum + The Walters Art Museum
  • Provided administrative, educational and programming support for community arts-based non-profit organizations: American Visionary Art Museum + School 33 Art Center + Community Arts Partnership + Loop It Up Savannah + Contemporary Museum

What I'm looking for :: inspiration in unexpected places

Megan has an incredible eye for both buying and merchandising. She really gets to know your shop’s identity and then searches high and low for unique vendors that work well together.
